It is indicated in inflammation of the esophagus and stomach. This is considered as a powerful antiscorbutic. The convulsions are of a peculiar kind, the limbs being thrown backwards and forwards and head from side to side. The hands alternately clenched and unclenched. The eyes are prominent. The lower eyelid is swollen and uvula is elongated. The esophagus is inflamed and pain is worse by swallowing.
Mind: Unconscious
Head: The head is dull and heavy with distress.
Eyes: The eyes are sunken. The lower eyelid is puffed. The pupils are sluggish. The eyeballs are fixed, glassy and prominent.
Mouth: The tongue is moist and furred. The tongue is swollen and furred in the middle, tip and edges are red.
Throat: The pharynx is congested. The uvula is elongated. The pain in the throat is constant and extends to esophagus and cardiac end of stomach.
Stomach: The appetite is lost. The thirst is increased. The vomiting is thick, pulpy and dark green matter.
Abdomen: The abdomen is full of gas and distended. The pain in the bowels is so intense as if pressed firmly.
Urine: The urine is scanty and frequent. The urine is phosphatic, turbid and whey-like.
Respiratory: The cough is unremitting with expectoration.
Nervous system: The convulsions are violent with arms elevated casting them forward and backward. The fists are clenched and unclenched. There is grinding of teeth without foaming at mouth. The eyeballs are fixed, glassy and prominent. There is great prostration and exhaustion after attacks. The legs lost their power and tend to fall with vomiting a diffluent, raw and greenish mass. The bodily powers are prostrated.
