Pyrogen is the great remedy for septic states with intense restlessness. It is especially useful in septic fevers after delivery. It is called as a homoeopathic dynamic antiseptic. The remedy has its valuable action in conditions like typhoid, diphtheria, chemical poisoning, and malaria and after effects of miscarriage. The discharges like menstrual, lochial, diarrhea, vomit, sweat etc., are horribly offensive. It is effective in septic conditions like abscesses. It has found to be effective in heart failure and septic fevers.

Mind: The anxiety is marked with insane thoughts. There is restlessness with loquacity. It produces a dreamy state while awake.

Head: The headache is associated with restlessness. The head is throbbing without pain.

Mouth: The tongue is red, cracked, dry and smooth as if varnished. The throat is dry and articulation is difficult. The taste in the mouth is fetid.

Stomach: The vomitus is like coffee grounds. The water is vomited when it get warm in stomach.

Abdomen: The abdomen is bloated, sore with cutting pain. The bladder and rectum are constricted with pain.

Stool: The diarrhea is painless and involuntary. The stool is horribly offensive and brown black. Constipation is with complete inactivity of rectum. The stools are large, black, carrion-like or small black balls.

Heart: The heart is weak with palpitations. There is sensation as if heart were too full. The heartbeat is audible from outside. The pulse is abnormally fast.

Female: It is indicated in puerperal infection with extreme offensiveness of discharges. It is also indicated in septic condition after abortions. The menstrual discharge is horribly offensive with fever at each menses. It is also given in pelvic inflammatory conditions and post-operative cases with sepsis.

Fever: It is indicated in septic fevers with chilliness and coldness. The chill begins in the back and temperature rises rapidly. The heat is more with profuse hot sweat without fall in temperature.

Extremities: The hands and legs are numb. The limbs and bones are aching. The bed feels too hard. It is indicated in decubitus of septic origin.

Dosage: Please note that the dosage of single homoeopathic medicines varies from drug to drug depending upon the condition, age, sensitivity and other things. In some cases they are given as regular doses as 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day whereas in other cases they are given only once in a week, month or even in a longer period. We strongly recommend that the medication should be taken as per the physician’s advice.

Please avoid taking any food or drinks for a few minutes before and after taking the medication.
