Morphinum is a stimulant, convulsant and hypnotic. It has lesser effects than opium. It produces contractility of bladder and constipation. It is a diaphoretic and pruritic.

Mind: It is given in depression and produces dream like state.

Head: There is vertigo from the least movement of the head. There is headache with sensation of band around head. Pain is bursting type.

Eyes: Eyes are bluish and drooping of eyelids. There is itching of eyes. Delusion of vision on closing eyes. Pupils are contracted.

Ears: Pain in the left ear which is throbbing in nature and is better by warmth.

Face: The face is dusky red and pallid lividity of lips, tongue, mouth and throat.

Mouth: Tongue is dry and coated brown violet in the middle. Thirst is increased. Appetite lost with aversion to meat.

Throat: The throat is dry and constricted. There is difficulty in swallowing and better by hot drink. Complaints are worse by solid foods.

Stomach: There is incessant and deathly nausea. There is vomiting of green fluid with constant retching.

Rectum: The stool is watery, brown or black with much burning and difficulty. There is also constipation with large, dry and knotty stool with tendency to bruise and fissure.

Urine: Weakness of bladder. Urination is difficult and slow. It is indicated in acute and chronic uremia.

Male: Impotency.

Heart: There is alternation of fast and slow heart rate. Pulse is small and weak.

Respiratory: Difficulty in breathing and hiccough. There is tightness of chest. Pain in the middle of sternum. Cough is dry, hard, teasing and exhausting worse at night. The sputum is thin, scanty and viscid.

Skin: The skin is livid with purple spots. It is indicated in herpes zoster.

Nervous system: Trembling, twitching, jerking and convulsions. There is violent and sudden neuralgic pains and sudden fainting. Neuralgic pain in the left supraorbital and right intercostal region. There is sore feeling all over the body. Better from heat and worse after sleep.

Dosage: Please note that the dosage of single homoeopathic medicines varies from drug to drug depending upon the condition, age, sensitivity and other things. In some cases they are given as regular doses as 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day whereas in other cases they are given only once in a week, month or even in a longer period.
