This remedy is indicated for fevers, septic conditions of the blood, food poisoning, bacterial infections and extreme prostration.

Mouth: Dryness of mouth with bitter taste and fetid breath. Yellowish-brown brown tongue with red, shining edges and burnt feeling. Tongue dry and brown in the center with cracked and sore surface. Increased thirst, can swallow only fluids.

Throat: Congestion of throat with redness of tonsils and soft palate. Constriction and spasmodic contractions of oesophagus with difficulty in swallowing solid food. Sore throat with offensive discharge and without pain.

Stomach: Difficulty in swallowing, can swallow only liquids, with constant desire for water. Loss of appetite with vomiting from continuous spasm of oesophagus.sensation of emptiness with pain in the epigastrium. Constricted feeling of the orifices of the stomach with inflammation and ulcers of stomach and bowels.

Abdomen: Distension of abdomen with flatulence and rumbling. Pain and soreness over the region of liver, with diarrhea. Very offensive, thin, dark, bloody stools with soreness of abdomen, in region of liver. Dysentery of old people.

Fever: Fever and chills, with pain in all the joints and soreness all over body. Skin very hot all over the body with chills in between. Chilliness around 11 am in the morning

Modalities: Worse from humid heat, fog and indoors.
