This remedy is useful in conditions of nervous affections with disorders of brain and spinal cord with symptoms of loss of co-ordination, loss of control and trembling in affected parts, inflammatory diseases of the throat, stomach and intestines with flatulence and prematurely aging.

Head: Headache from mental exertion and emotional disturbances with coldness and trembling. Nervous exhaustion with weakness and sensation of expansion of the head. Sensation of fainting with noises in the ears and nervous affections. Pain in the forehead, with enlarged feeling in the eyes. Pain better by tight bandaging and pressure. Itching of scalp.

Eyes: Swelling and redness on the inner angle of the eyes. Disturbances in vision with spots and blurred vision. Infection of eyes with pain and purulent discharges. Inflammation of conjunctiva with chronic ulceration of the margin of lids. Tired feeling and pain in the eyes from over straining. Lids swollen and red with conjunctivitis. Ulceration and opacity of cornea.

Throat: Thick viscid mucus in the throat and the mouth, has to hem and hawk to clear the throat. Sore throat with rawness, redness and sensation of a splinter in throat on swallowing.

Stomach: Excessive flatulence with nausea and vomiting of shining mucus with pain in the pit of the stomach. Great distension of abdomen with frequent eructation severe pain, burning and sensation of constriction. Gastritis from drinking alcohol with trembling and throbbing in the stomach. Desire for sweets, cheese and salt with ineffectual eructations.

Respiratory: Persistent hoarseness of voice and cough from singing and use of voice. Spasmodic and suffocative cough, as if from a hair in the throat. Difficulty in breathing with palpitation, irregular and intermittent pulsations and oppression of chest. Pain in the chest radiates from the region of heart to the arms.

Modalities: Worse from warmth, at night, from cold food, sweets, after eating, menstrual period and emotions. Better from eructation, fresh air, cold and pressure.
