Jatropha curcas, also known as purging nut or physic nut, is a small tree or shrub that can grow to a height of up to 5 meters. The leaves are broadly ovate, cordate, acute, and usually palmately 3 to 5 lobed. They are alternate and congested at the summit of branches. They are pubescent and encompass a size range of 15 to 45 cm, including the petiole. It s yellow-green flower s , whi ch are approximately 7mm in diameter, are arranged in irregular panicles of cymes. The plant generates fleshy, ovoid fruits that are approximately 2.5 cm in length.
