Vaccinium myrtillus MT commonly known as Bilberry, is a small shrub with bright red leaves in autumn and bluish-black berries. It is used to prepare homeopathic mother tincture and is recognized in the Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeias of India, Germany, and the United States. The plant contains beneficial compounds like anthocyanosides, vitamins B1 and C, pro-vitamin A, tannins, and plant acids. It is commonly used for treating diarrhea in children, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, and capillary fragility. It is also helpful in managing urinary tract infections and associated problems.
