Allium Cepa CH is a Homoeopathic Dilution prepared from red onion and is highly useful in complaints accompanied by a sensation of glowing heat on different parts of the body and hence is useful in complaints such as coryza, conjunctivitis, anal fissures, laryngitis and paronychia.
It is of great use in coryza with acrid nasal discharge and bland eye secretions with worsening of complaints in a warm room and better in the open air. It is also helpful in cases of neuralgic pains like a fine thread especially after amputations or injuries to the nerves. It also has a good effect in case of colic which is worse by sitting and better by moving about.
It is to be taken as an internal medicine. Please note that the dosage of single homoeopathic medicines varies from drug to drug depending upon the condition, age, sensitivity and other things. In some cases they are given as regular doses as 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day whereas in other cases they are given only once a week, month or even in a longer period. It is especially indicated for symptoms like hay fever with acrid nasal discharge, laryngitis and excessive lachrymation. Symptoms are worse in warm room and better in open air. Pain of neural origins as in cases of amputations or nerve damages. Inflammation of nerves with irritation and pain from nerve injuries with burning sensation all over the body.
Head: Headache from inflammation of nasal mucosa and sinuses. Pains mostly in forehead which gets worse in warm room. Neuralgia of face with thread-like pains in face. Pain disappears during menses and reappears with the cessation of menses.
Eyes: Contusion of eyes with profuse lachrymation and burning in the eyelids. Intense photophobia with bland lachrymation.
Nose: Acrid and watery nasal discharges which excoriates the upper lip. Symptoms like hay fever with sneezing, on entering a warm room. Running nose with headache, cough, and hoarseness with sensation of a lump in the throat.
Rectum: Loose stools with bloating of abdomen and offensive flatus. Burning and heat in rectum with itching in the anus.
Urinary: Weak bladder with frequent and increased urination. Dark urine with pressing pain and burning sensation in urethra.
Respiratory: Loss of voice with sensation of lump in the throat. Violent cough from inhalation of cold air and tickling sensation in larynx. Constriction and sensation of oppression of the chest with difficulty in breathing. Pain in the larynx as if torn from coughing and the pain extends to the ears.
